Inspiration Behind Solar Lajja
The “SolarLajja” story started months back in late 2018, when disturbing news on Human – Wildlife conflicts took place in Rajasthan & Maharashtra where a Wild Tigers attacked an adolescent girl in her menstrual cycle. While working in the forest we found that majority of the victims were Women and the latest research suggests that over 90% cases of Human Wildlife conflicts the victims were a Female, that too women in her Menstrual Period cycles, and majority of incidences happened when they went to the jungle to dispose their Blood soiled Clothes ,napkins/cotton pads, because the smell of human menstrual blood attracts wildlife and leads to critical situation of conflicts in Forests & National Parks as menstruating women in her periods is an easy prey for wild animals.
The call for real Social Innovation got answered to provide safe disposal of menstrual cycle product across those who are deprived and underprivileged. Today, we continue our vision – Helping vulnerable children and families thrive in forest and other protected areas .

TOWARDS A LOW CARBON ECONOMY
Solar energy is the most sustainable solution for combating climate change and global waste problems. As we all know, climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as global warming, drought, heat waves, floods, and cyclones, aggravating water management problems, reducing agricultural production and food security, increasing health risks, damaging critical infrastructure, and interrupting the provision of basic services such as water and sanitation, education, energy, and transport. We call for immediate, urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts on the planet and to support 16 of the other goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Dr. Madhurita Gupta
Dr. Madhurita Gupta is a well-known wildlife veterinarian, solopreneur, and philanthropist. Through her NGO, myvets charitable trust, and research center, she works on the ground to protect wildlife, biodiversity, tribal women’s rights, and women’s empowerment.
She is a TEDx speaker and trailblazer and has been awarded by various national and international organisations for her wonderful and impactful contributions to society, the environment, and women. The Chilean government honoured her with the PresAgious Strait of Magellan Award for her social innovation, Solar Lajja, which is a women-centric sustainable innovation for menstrual hygiene management and the world’s first solar-powered sanitary waste incinerator. This year she has been nominated for the Most Prescient Earthshot Prize by Prince Charles and David Attenborough of Britain for Climate Change Action as an impact entrepreneur from around the globe. She is well known for her various innovations in pet technology, vet technology, clean technology, health technology, sustainability, and her contribution towards the environment and climate change. She was instrumental in the United Nations developing various policies to support environmental and forest conservation. She has been actively covered by the BBC and other international organisations for her contributions and futuristic technological innovations. She is developing the Smartest Wildlife Rescue Ambulance for Tigers and Man-Eating Leopards for Leopard-Human Conflicts, in addition to her other significant contributions to wildlife. Meagan has been working as a consultant with Ambani’s and Reliance Fountain for various wildlife and forest conservation projects across India, with backing from none other than Mr. Ratan Tata.
Dr. Madhurita Gupta is nominated for the most prestigious Global Environment Award to fix our climate through our purpose driven innovation Earthshot launched by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge & David Attenborough and The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales , the Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious prize in history.
